Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can I buy Galileo units?

You can buy units through your financial advisor. If you do not have an advisor, you can call 1 888 912 2288 and Galileo will provide a list of financial advisors in your area.

Q: Are any of your funds available to wrap account holders?

Yes, we offer F Class units to fee-for-service and wrap account programs sponsored by certain registered dealers on most of our funds (except Galileo Money Market). We charge a lower management fee on F Class units because our distribution and service costs are lower.

Q: Can I switch between Galileo Funds?

Yes, in fact that is one of the reasons we have a complete family of funds. However, please consider the following: a switch is considered a disposition for tax purposes so you may realize a capital gain or loss; Galileo does not charge you any fees for a switch transaction unless you switch within 30 days of your purchase (this fee does not apply to redemptions under our Systematic Withdrawal Program or the 10% fee redemption program); and your financial advisor may charge a transfer fee. To switch, speak to your financial advisor.

Q: Are all of your funds eligible for registered plans?

Yes, you can hold units inside your RRSP, DPSP or as part of an RESP.

Q: How often do you calculate NAV?

We calculate net asset value in Canadian dollars at the end of each business day – a business day being defined as a day in which the Toronto Stock Exchange is open for business. Our NAVs are often published in major Canadian newspapers in the mutual fund tables.

Q: Does Galileo Offer PACs?

Absolutely. Under this program, you can instruct us to make regular purchases of your favourite Galileo fund or funds each month or quarter using money directly and automatically withdrawn from your bank account. The minimum purchase amount is $25 and over time, this small amount can add up to substantial savings.

Q: Why should I invest in Galileo Funds?

We believe there are many reasons and we encourage you to review Why Galileo and speak to your financial advisor for additional insight.

Q: Who owns Galileo?

Unlike most firms, everyone at Galileo is a shareholder and we are 100% employee owned. We believe this makes a difference because it means our economic interests and yours are directly aligned. When you succeed, we succeed.
